Projects with Digital Paper

Pocket Card by Georgia Carl Posted on 22 Mar 10:01 , 102 comments

I wanted to create a card that had a pocket for either a message or gift card. My original design was for Christmas, but for this example I made one for a birthday or other special occasion using Melody’s Digital paper. This project actually used 3 different paper sets: Madison, Fairy and Becky! I love trying to come up with new designs and using this paper was a breeze! Even though I used 3 different designs, the colors all went together! You can change this card up to fit any occasion! Enjoy and let us see what you create. I have included my design space file, as well as dimensions for cutting it out with a paper trimmer.

Double Dutch Fold Card by Georgia using Grace Digital Paper Posted on 17 Oct 07:52 , 19 comments

My inspiration for this Double Dutch Fold Card was by FaithfuleCreations on youtube. I needed a card for a baby shower and this one was perfect. I also added a pop-up element on the inside. Melody Lane's "Grace" Digital Paper gave all the colors in one page that I wanted for my background pieces, pink, yellow, purple and hints of blues. If you don't have a Cricut, just watch FaithfuleCreations video and you will be making it in no time. Twist Turn Pop Up Card by Georgia! Posted on 14 Sep 07:35 , 41 comments

So, I found another unique fold card to share with you! My inspiration was Holly Young on Youtube. I watched others after hers, but hers was the first! I fell in love with it, so I went to trusty Cricut Design Space and created a file for it. But my "twist" on the card, was to make it a pop-up card! Using Melody Lane's "Lola" Digital Paper was a natural. The piece I used seemed to have movement which went well with the stamp set I was using. And the colors spoke fall to me. If you don't have a Cricut, just watch Holly's video and you will be making it in no time. You can use my Cricut File and the possibilities are endless! I used Art Impressions Stamps to complete my card, but you could do diecuts from Cricut, stamps, stickers or whatever your imagination dreams up! Come join me on Youtube and I will show you how to assemble this card!

6 Fold Card by Georgia using Carole Digital Paper Posted on 6 Sep 08:26 , 7 comments

Love the new Carole Digital Paper by Melody Lane! I saw 6 fold cards being made on Youtube, and wondered, Can I re-create it in Cricut Design Space? I don't know about you, but when I like the design of a card, if I plan on using it again I like to create it in Design Space so I can just bring up my file and cut as many as I want!

Melody's new Carole paper was the perfect choice for this card. I was asked to make a card and to make it simple, not overly embellished. Maymay Made It Feathers Scripture Stamp Set and Fun Stampers Journey Every Day Stamp Set completed this card.

Baby It's Cold Outside Snowman Card by Georgia Carl Posted on 10 Aug 08:35 , 6 comments

Have you ever wanted to create your own double flip card? In this video I show you how I designed a double flip card in Cricut Design Space. Put your own twist on this card using Melody Lane’s digital paper. For this snowman card I used the Chloe Paper Set! It is an enchanting winter filled paper!  One tip, when choosing a graphic for a flip card, try to use one that has a shadow layer. You can watch the video here!

Lemonade Stand Card Featuring Lorrie Paper Posted on 16 Jul 04:00 , 14 comments

Hello! Shannon again with another card. It was cold and rainy here today, so I spent the day in my craft room. I came across a really cool card on Pinterest that was cut with a paper trimmer and stamped, so I thought I would try to recreate it in Design Space and share the file with everyone!

Notice the quilted table-cloth? That's 4 papers from the Lorrie collection! Don't they work just perfectly?! I used them as Pattern Fills for the triangles of the quilt, and then flattened everything together to make a very realistic and eye-catching table-cloth for the card!

You can find the link to the original project (which also includes a really great assembly tutorial), more information about how to use the Pattern Fill feature in this project, and the Design Space cut file on my Blog. I also highly recommend this really great video that Melody made to get better acquainted with pattern fills and digital paper. Enjoy!

Happy crafting!!
